An intensive course to equip those who are going to spend some time in China with basic communication vocabulary such as making self-introduction, asking for and giving directions, ordering food, making purchases, travelling and accommodation.

Students who have completed the Core Mandarin Beginner series (Foundation, Beginner 1 & 2) continue with Lower Intermediate Mandarin 1 & 2. At this level students will read Chinese characters without relying on the assistance of pin yin. A communication-based programme that takes students to the Upper Intermediate programmes such as Business Mandarin and Intensive Spoken Mandarin.

Specifically tailored materials utilising actual popular cartoon series and sitcom series in China, with comprehension exercises to create interactive learning through paraphrasing and descriptive dialogue. This is a fun course, suitable for those who want to train their listening skills to understand Putonghua as spoken in China and provides plenty of opportunity to practice speaking.

A good way to understand the culture and life in China. Articles will cover social issues, business, entertainment and education. Equips students with the skills to read headlines and abbreviated terms used in newspapers.
